About the Company
The Pegu Khola Small Hydropower Project (PKSHP) was identified by Bigu Hydro Venture Pvt. Ltd. (BHVPL)following a detailed study conducted by the company. Initially, a survey license (Bi.Bi.Bi. 072/73 Bi.Uh.Sa.709) was issued under the name of Ms. Sabitri Shrestha by the Department of Electricity Development (DoED), under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation (MoEWRI), on 3rd Poush 2072 B.S. (18th December 2015) for a proposed installed capacity of 3 MW.
The license was subsequently renewed on 5th Poush 2074 B.S. (20th December 2017) and formally transferred to BHVPL on 13th Chaitra 2074 B.S. (27th March 2018). BHVPL later received the generation license (Bi.Bi.Bi.077/78 Bi.U.311) on 11th Bhadra 2077 B.S. (27th August 2020).
A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) was signed between BHVPL and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) on 30th Ashad 2079 B.S. (14th July 2022) for an installed capacity of 3 MW.
The project is located at Bigu Rural Municipality, Dolakha District, Nepal.
